Fire Protection Requirements
Fire safety is critical at Symrise’s Corby sites, particularly because of the potential hazards in a busy factory setting. ISE Fire was engaged to ensure ongoing compliance and safety across Symrise’s two sites used for manufacturing in Corby. This includes servicing fire extinguishers, conducting fire risk assessments, and planning for efficient fire alarm management and response. Access for fire alarm maintenance needed to be carefully scheduled, as routine servicing could only occur during site shutdowns, typically on weekends. We work with Symrise to ensure critical work is undertaken during these breaks in schedule.
Legal and Technical Aspects
Our work with Symrise adheres to strict standards, including the British Standard BS5306-3:2017 for fire extinguishers and requirements from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for conducting thorough fire risk assessments. Given the specialised nature of Symrise’s production environment, our team’s familiarity with these regulations ensures that all safety protocols meet the highest standards and are implemented with minimal disruption.

ISE Fire has developed a strong relationship with the Health and Safety management at Symrise, particularly around routine fire safety maintenance and fire extinguisher servicing. This relationship allows Symrise quick access to consult with our Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) specialist, whose guidance is invaluable when Symrise undertakes any changes to their facilities; allowing them to quickly address any fire safety requirements that may arise from ongoing projects or expansions which may require changes to operations or the sites themselves.
ISE Fire’s flexible approach to accommodating busy schedules, including performing fire alarm maintenance during weekend shutdowns, helps Symrise maintain a safe work environment without impacting their daily operations.
