ISE Fire was initially founded as ‘ISE Intumescent Supplies’ in April 1993, selling intumescent fire-resistant products out of Rothwell. In 1995 we relocated to Kettering and from 1998 were regularly servicing fire extinguishers for existing intumescent customers, which were predominantly builders and joinery companies.
Our PLC was formed in 1998, becoming ISE Fire Products and Services Ltd. Our first full-time permanent employee, Harvey Miller, joined us in 2000 as a fire safety trainer, followed by Laura Roberts in 2001 to form the accounts department, and Andy Stearn joined in 2003 as for fire extinguisher servicing—these early employees remain with ISE Fire to this day. We’re proud of the reliable and long-held working relationships between customers and our employees.
By 2004 we had purchased our first company premises in Burton Latimer, which had formerly been a fire station and butcher’s, and in 2005 we secured contracts to service large facilities such as universities, colleges, and independent schools: Christ Church College and Rugby School are just two of those customers who continue to use our services, some 19 years later!
We purchased a fire alarm company in 2007, Burton Fire, and pursued internal training for in-house fire alarm engineers (Paul Bean, our first engineer, remains with us).
We continued to grow our employee and customer base right into the 2010s, moving our HQ to Little Harrowden, adding fire risk assessments to our repertoire alongside the purchase of a ‘live’ fire training unit to enable fire extinguisher and fire warden training at customer’s sites. Training was and still is provided by Harvey Miller, who also represents us in sales. In 2011 we received BAFE third-party approval for fire extinguishers and fire alarms.
Since then we have grown the team further, adding more engineers and administrative support to maintain new and long-held relationsips with our customers across our major service divisions: fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire risk assessments, and fire safety training.
